
Dr Yasser Saeed Khan
Middle Eastern Division Chair
Dr Yasser Saeed Khan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
He is Senior Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Medical Lead of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar.
He also serves as Programme Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the College of Medicine, Qatar University.
Dr Khan previously worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS before relocating to Qatar in 2017 to further develop local CAMHS services. Since then, he has played a key role in advancing specialist child and adolescent mental health provision, research, and clinical training in the region.
Having served as Vice Chair of the MENA division for the past three years, he was elected Chair in 2025. During his time as Vice Chair, he supported a range of important initiatives, including the Palestinian, Iraq, and Egypt projects, strengthening collaboration and capacity-building across the region. His contribution was instrumental in the establishment of the first MRCPsych CASC exam centre in the Middle East. He played an active role in promoting trainee development through bursaries, MTI placements, and mentoring. He has also championed the launch of the RCPsych MENA Hall of Fame Awards and contributed to the development of regional research and dementia alliances.
